At first Heard settled down on the picture perfect island of Mallorca and later relocated to the bustling capital of Madrid.
She has reportedly even changed her name to Martha Jane Cannary, after the legendary frontierswoman Calamity Jane.
Heard has been in Spain focusing on being a mother to her daughter Oonagh Paige, who was born via surrogate in April 2021.
In an Instagram post announcing Oonagh’s arrival, Heard wrote that she chose to be a mother on her own terms, not on anyone else’s.
“Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms,” she wrote.
“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.”
Reportedly, time in Spain has brought her peace and happiness.
Conor Allyn, who directed her in the 2023 film “In The Fire,” shared with “People”: ‘She is living her best life in Spain with her daughter, just finding happiness in that way.’ “She’s such a dedicated mom and so good about making time for her daughter.”
The actress, who has learned to speak Spanish and is now bilingual, tells reports she loves the peace of raising her daughter away from the “noise” that used to surround her.
Her journey to Spain and her focus on family is starkly different than the public and personal turmoil of recent years.
Heard’s legal problems over Depp captured the spotlight with Heard almost as notorious as Johnny Depp.
Heard had previously won a libel case in the UK, but Depp won the defamation trial in the US.

Avril details of her pregnancy, including if she is having the baby with a partner or on her own, are kept private but the announcement marks another big step in her life.
